Responsibilities :
Healthcare professionals design and implement novel research and educatecolleagues and students. Lilly Oncology has established a fieldbased Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program to aid these ScientificExperts (SEs) in their pursuit for deep knowledge of currentscientific and clinical information. The Lilly Oncology MSL programaccomplishes this support for SE’s by maintaining deep therapeuticknowledge about Lilly and competitor products and current issues inthe oncology therapeutic areas they represent. In this role youwill gather feedback and insights from SEs to better inform Lilly’sresearch and to be able to inform the overall strategic directionof the Oncology Business Unit. By providing answers that matter andfacilitating scientific exchange between industry and the SEcommunity, you will have the opportunity to craft the future ofhealthcare with information that addresses meaningful clinical andscientific questions. The primary therapeutic focus of this MSLrole will be Hematologic Malignancies. The responsibilities of theHematologic Malignancy MSL team include scientific and clinicalsupport of community and academic scientific experts withunsolicited requests for information on late and early phase agentsbeing developed for Hematologic Malignancies. Develop ing mutuallybeneficial relationships with external clients and internalbusiness partners You will dedicate between 70-80% of your timedeveloping relationships and working with external clients: SEs,educators and investigators within a defined geography. You willserve as a major representative of Lilly for health careprofessionals, providing deep and advanced disease state andproduct information as well as facilitating the work of the SE whenit aligns with Lilly’s mission. When appropriate, a critical aspectof this role will be to connect the SE with internal Lillyresources (e.g., Discovery Scientists, Outcomes Research, ClinicalDevelopment Consultants, and Clinical Research Physicians…). Youwill be the primary point person liaising between Lilly resourcesor internal business partners (e.g., Medical Affairs ClinicalResearch Physicians and teams and Clinical Development ResearchPhysicians and teams as well as others). You will also beresponsible for reporting clinical insights and unanswered customerquestions you receive from external SEs to the medical affairs,clinical development and brand teams. Understand ing andeffectively communicating current scientific knowledge It iscritical that you maintain technical expertise within atherapeutically aligned tumor team to be able to participate indeep scientific discussions with SEs. You will need to engage incontinuous learning within the therapeutic area you represent. Inaddition, you will have opportunities to learn by attendingscientific meetings and conducting routine literature searches. Itis essential and a core expectation that you communicate regularlywith your peers to ensure that the entire group benefits from anyrelevant learning. As a result, you will establish yourself as areliable, trusted, resource of accurate, up-to-date, medical andscientific knowledge requested and desired by your clients. Youwill respond in a timely manner to personal or electronic inquirieswith any available information which may include reprints ofposters or publications, medical letters, literature citations andany other relevant peer reviewed sources. Effective implementationof administrative activities This role entails not only scientificand customer expertise, but also requires the ability to comprehendand effectively utilize approved resources to fulfilladministrative, procedural, and legal requirements in order toaddress the customer needs. These activities may includeproficiency in computer skills and database entry (VEEVA,Sharepoint, Microsoft Office, Pub Med, expense reports, etc.),continual compliance of all procedural requirements of the role(i.e. good documentation practices, standards and procedures) andappropriate utilization and sharing of available resources.
BasicQualifications:
- An advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD,M.D., Ph.D. in a medically related field) is required with 2-3years of clinical, relevant experience.
- Masters or bachelor’slevel degree in health sciences (e.g. RN, RPh, PA, NP, etc.) wouldbe considered if the candidate has 5 or more years of clinicaland/or medical information experience in oncology
- Valid driver’slicense and acceptable driving record is required
- Qualifiedcandidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the UnitedStates.

Additional Skills/Preferences :
Clinicaloncology experience, including physicians, nurses, nursepractitioners, and pharmacists with experience working withpatients in a hospital or outpatient clinical setting Intellectualcuriosity and intelligence about the field of science/medicine forwhich they are responsible Previous experience in malignanthematology /- radioligand/theranostics is preferred Highlymotivated and capable of comprehending large amounts of scientificcontent and communicate it in a clear, concise fashion Significantdirect experience in servicing customer needs for complexinformation Demonstrated ability to work with often demanding ordifficult clients Significant experience and success inself-managing priorities and multi-tasking projects Strongteamwork/interpersonal skills Advanced presentation and computerskills with expertise in literature identification and evaluationSignificant experience in professional networking with positivemutually meaningful outcomes Experience in field-based environmentshighly valued Familiarity with the academic community and themedical research and medical education process highly valuedEffective verbal and written communication skills Stronginterpersonal skills, including capability to partake inprofessional relationship building and networking Position requiresability to travel overnight of up to 60%, as well as work 4 to 6weekends per year
