Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:

The Director, National Video Investment will have direct client contact (media, marketing, and creative).Diplomacy, flexibility and proactive client management will be key strengths of the ideal candidate.

In addition, clients can be fairly detail oriented; expectations for strong organizational skills and attention to detail is high.

This position is perfect for a candidate who can build strong relationships with multiple teams, both within Starcom as well as with clients.

The Director will have many opportunities to extend beyond the current scope of this position and flex muscles in process development, systems and overall operational excellence for Starcom clients.

While providing thought leadership on audience strategies and campaign optimization, the Director builds strong relationships and establishes clear lines of communication with agency partners and the client services team alike.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in video investment and a strong passion for Sports.

They will bring a proven track record of driving cross-functional alignment, influencing senior stakeholders, and making data-informed decisions that elevate business outcomeResponsibilitiesLead the development of strategic sports sponsorship investment plans, providing high-level guidance on cross-channel recommendations and overseeing key negotiation initiatives to drive maximum value.

Direct and manage the daily workflow of campaigns across the video eco-system (linear TV, FEP, OTT, Mobile, Connected TV, Addressable) as well as some Digital-Direct, including proposal development, campaign activation and maintenance, and post-buy recapsAssume accountability and ownership of campaign execution for assigned client accountReview client deliverables for quality, ensuring that recommendations and work product are sound and viableOwn the development of strategic proposals, coordinating across teams to account for all relevant inputsOversee collaboration with strategy and planning teams to shape sports investment budgets and optimize channel allocations, ensuring strategic alignment and financial efficiency across planning cycles.

Drive the development of strategic frameworks and thought leadership by delivering innovative, mostly sport-centric solutions rooted in market intelligence and emerging opportunitiesManage, train, mentor, and develop existing teamUnderstand and effectively communicate value proposition, technology, and processes as related to the growth of current and prospective agency accountsParticipate in forecasting exercises for senior managementDevelop processes to ensure data integrity and implement across the agencyMaintain a strong understanding of the systems used such as Mediaocean/Prisma or other digital buying tools, Ad Servers/Verification, DSPs, Social Platforms, DMPs, and internal proprietary toolsProvide ideas and solutions for pain points/problems in processes; then work alongside internal and external teams to develop best practices, enhancements, and tools to improve theseDetermine and activate how to deliver necessary data to teams for various reporting purposesBuild and maintain strong relationships across multiple internal teams and external teamsMaintain relationships with vendors to ensure trust and confidence with our buying partnersCultivate a team-focused mentality across the larger Investment teamQualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred, preferably with a concentration in marketing, advertising, communications, business, sociology, or consumer insights 8+ years of total related media experience4+ years of team management experience with progressing responsibilitiesOutstanding Leadership skills coupled with diplomacy (can work across and within multiple teams)Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilitiesLeadership ability to manage and matrixed team within the agency and matrixed clients; confidence to lead brand clients whose focus is product marketing vs. Media’ balancing competing priorities to manage projects successfullySkillful negotiator in the Video space, especially National BroadcastAble to leverage marketplace relationships for the client’s goodKeep current on the pulse of changing marketplace conditions (audience, sales offerings, programming, etc.)and be able to make insightful recommendations to clientsAbility to adapt to change, nimbly manage challenges and make quick decisionsExperience utilizing multiple media toolsExperience working in Sports media and sponsorshipAdditional InformationStarcom is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Compensation Range:

$119,510.00 – $188,025.00 annually.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.

Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.

Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.

Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
