DESCRIPTION

The Intercollegiate Athletics Department at Newberry College, an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the South Atlantic Conference is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant Director of Strength, Conditioning & Sports Performance. JOB FUNCTIONS

Assisting with planning and directing all phases of the Division II Strength and Conditioning Program. Assisting with team scheduling, practice and game day coaching. Compliance with NCAA and South Atlantic Conference rules and regulations. Working in coordination with the other domains (Nutrition, Sports Medicine, and Psychology), as well as coordination with sport coaches. Providing supervision of graduate assistants, interns and volunteers. All other duties as assigned by Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Sports Performance.

EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

Bachelor’s degree in physical education, kinesiology, exercise science, health science, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred, a minimum of three years strength and conditioning coaching experience preferably at the collegiate level, current CSCS certification or equivalent certification required, availability for weekend, evening and holiday work as needed, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task successfully, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the capacity to deal effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
