Are you passionate about providing support for students in recovery? The Assistant Director for Gamecock Recovery promotes a healthy environment and lifestyle for students in recovery from substance use disorders by providing tools and support for academic success, professional development, and campus and community support. The Assistant Director for Gamecock Recovery plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational, social, and service opportunities that connect students in recovery to each other and the USC experience as well as educating students, faculty and staff about recovery. In addition, this position provides direct support to individual students, including screening and brief intervention, creating recovery support plans as appropriate, and connecting students to a referral network of campus and community resources.
Key Duties:
Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate appropriate support programs for students in recovery which connect students in recovery to each other and the USC experience, including managing and operating the recovery center space.
Provide direct support to individual students in recovery, seeking recovery or referred to the screening and brief intervention program.
Develop workshops and trainings to educate students, faculty and staff about recovery from substance use disorders, including the Recovery Ally program.
Recruit, train, and supervise graduate assistants, peer leaders, and student recovery coaches. Coordinate training and on-going professional development.
