Job Description
Director of Training, Talent & Culture 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Columbia,SC null, Columbia, SC 29201 Director of Training, Talent & Culture (A.K.A. The Guru of Growth, The Sensei of Service, The Jedi of Job Skills, The Matchmaker of Talent) Are you a restaurant ops rockstar who’s been leading the charge, running the floor, juggling five things at once — and secretly dreaming about shaping the next generation of hospitality legends? Do you have a passion for people development and an eye for spotting top talent before they even know how great they are? Homegrown Hospitality Group is stirring the pot on something big — and we’re looking for a bold, hands-on leader to bring the heat. We’re hiring a Director of Training, Talent & Culture, someone who’s equal parts trainer, recruiter, mentor, coach, and culture warrior. You’ll take your deep restaurant knowledge and channel it into building something from scratch — from crafting killer training programs to developing in-house trainers to leading recruitment strategies that bring in the right people for the right roles.
Your main ingredients:
Build and launch a best-in-class Leadership Development Program — not some crusty corporate template, but something real, relevant, and Homegrown. Identify and develop a training lead in every location — then coach and mentor them into hospitality ninjas. Drive recruitment efforts with heart — help identify, attract, and onboard people who align with our culture and raise the bar. Lead talent development initiatives to grow team members into future leaders — building clear pathways and real opportunities. Embed our culture across all levels — making sure our vibe, standards, and heartbeat live in every HHG restaurant. Be in the field — like, actually there — showing, supporting, and solving in real time. Own the rollout of new products, procedures, and programs with flair and follow-through. Create engaging tools, training, and touchpoints that inspire and inform. Collaborate with leadership and hiring managers to ensure our recruiting and retention strategies align with our long-term goals.
About You:
You’ve got 7-10 years in restaurant leadership, and you still feel the call of the expo line. You’re obsessed with developing people — not just filling roles, but helping folks grow into them. You’ve got recruiting chops — whether formal or intuitive — and know how to spot a great hire a mile away. You’re a culture champion who can inspire everyone from a first-day hire to a seasoned GM. You’re comfortable with LMS platforms, recruiting tools, and old-school face-to-face connection. You’re excited to build from the ground up — sleeves rolled up, no ivory tower. Bonus points if you’ve got culinary training experience or at least know your brunoise from your broil. What’s in it for you: A leadership role where you actually get to shape the future of HHG. The opportunity to impact our family of restaurants in real and lasting ways. A company culture that’s fun, heartfelt, and just quirky enough to keep things interesting. A chance to build something that matters — and leave the burnout behind. If you’re ready to trade in late-night shifts for high-impact days — and you’re fired up about recruiting, mentoring, and creating unforgettable training experiences — let’s talk.
