- 28,000 Roles The Cumberland Esports Assistant position will focus on the esports student athlete’s athletic and academic success.
The Cumberland Esports Assistant coach will work with Cumberland University departments, primarily Athletics, to promote and support player academic success, retention, and persistence. Cumberland Esports Assistant coach will also oversee program recruiting and growth. This is a full time 12-month position.

Director of Esports, Assistant Athletic Director, Athletic Director Responsibilities Actively recruit students to join the Cumberland University esports program Track grades and attendance of esports student athletes Establish academic standards and conduct policies and procedures for personal success of students Track data to inform nudges and other campaigns to support student academic success Work with Academics to gather data on player retention and persistence Liaison with academic advisors, registrar, and admissions offices Assist with fundraising efforts to support the program through grants and donations Provide support for the personal success of student-athletes in the esports program Coordinate study tables, focus groups, and tutoring Coordinate team building and student life activities Attend LAN events and high schools to promote the Cumberland Esports program Qualifications Have at least a bachelor’s degree Administrative experience in esports is desired. Previous experience in scholastic esports or similar is preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and to be detail oriented Work beyond the traditional 40-hour work week, including nights and weekends Expectations Be exceptional at building relationships with the student athletes Have a full knowledge of collegiate esports policies and regulations Uphold and enforce all Cumberland University policies and regulations Maintain a high degree of integrity and understanding, while being able to work in a fast-paced and highly demanding environment Stay up to date in current trends in esports and regularly incorporate innovative ideas for programming
