MMJ – Multimedia Journalist-Producer Manatee Educational Television Bradenton, FL 34203 Job Summary We are seeking a creative and skilled Multimedia Journalist/Producer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and delivering high-quality video content across various platforms, including social media, websites, YouTube, and broadcast channels. This position combines creativity, technical expertise, and storytelling to engage and connect with the local community. You will collaborate closely with clients, the Station Manager, and other team members to meet the video content needs for diverse projects. Responsibilities Coordinate, produce, and deliver local video content and on-air news-style coverage of local organizations and events. Conduct interviews on and off camera for short form content. Capture creative B-roll video Anchor occasional long form content. Write, shoot, and edit local stories using MMJ gear in the field Use Final Cut Pro to edit Interviews & B-Roll, incorporating effects, transitions, and graphics to create polished, visually engaging videos. Ensure timely delivery of both short-term and long-term projects by effectively managing schedules and deadlines. Collaborate with the Station Manager and team to prioritize tasks and maintain a smooth workflow, handling multiple projects at once to meet all content deadlines. Tailor video content for different platforms, adjusting for specific format requirements such as length, aspect ratio, and technical specifications, adhering to established video standards. Provide support for other staff members by assisting with various types of projects, including tasks related to Live event video production, editing, and post-production. Be flexible and willing to contribute to cross-departmental needs as they arise. Manage social media accounts by creating engaging posts and interacting with followers to enhance audience engagement. Utilize photography and videography skills to create original visual content that complements written materials. Collaborate with other non-profits or agencies to gather insights and ideas for new content initiatives. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in journalism and digital media. Experience Proven experience in content creation or journalism is preferred. Proficient in video editing using Final Cut Pro Experience with video production equipment, including Panasonic ENG style or Sony FX series cameras Familiarity with wired and wireless microphone systems Experience with social media management tools and strategies is highly desirable.
