Medical, dental, vision, life insurance A growing polyethylene film manufacturing facility is seeking an experienced Production Manager with a strong background in blown or cast film production. This position plays a key role in overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring high production quality, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting a culture of safety and accountability across all departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as backup to the Plant Manager, supporting all plant operations and performance metrics. Lead and develop shift supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability. Oversee quality control, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and production planning. Drive cost efficiency and continuous improvement efforts through lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and visual management. Manage KPIs related to safety, waste reduction, productivity, and quality. Collaborate cross-functionally with supply chain and purchasing departments. Enforce plant policies and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Promote strong communication across shifts and departments. Troubleshoot production challenges and provide technical support to the team.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in production or plant management in the blown or cast film industry. Demonstrated troubleshooting skills in film production environments. Experience leading teams across multiple shifts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and visual management. Excellent leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
