SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Production Control & Planning Manager manages the activities of Customer Service and Scheduling. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule. The Production Control & Planning Manager interfaces with functional managers to ensure that requirements are met and works with other operations leaders and human resources to balance workload and manpower availability
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Responsibilities for designated accounts to include, but are not limited to: Lead and manage a team to create, implement, and run the daily production schedule for the site. Develop the master production schedule for the next 3 to 18 months and the rough-cut capacity plan. Manages customer service team and communicates to customers delivery timing and issues. Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Master Production Schedule Supervises the activities of and provides direction to Production Control personnel to ensure timely manufacture of products Works with other operations managers to balance workload and manpower availability Assist the Program Manager in maintaining punctual production schedules and risk reduction Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement Lead formal and informal problem-solving processes to ensure site on-time delivery and lead times meet market expectations and site goals Identify process and talent gaps to develop direct reports’ performance and development objectives to both grow individual team members and meet site and opco needs and objectives Take responsibility for all Master Planning and Production Control activities in the plant as part of the Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) framework. This includes planning capacity, forecasting shipment volumes, determining capacity needs, calculating TAKT time, analyzing lead times, maintaining production orders, and creating and updating the production schedule, along with other related planning tasks and duties as assigned. Be accountable for monthly delivery metrics for the site including on time delivery, shipment volume vs forecast accuracy, average FG lead times, production plan schedule attainment, and all other production planning KPIs Work with the buying and operations team to establish a level loaded master production plan for assigned product lines and fulfillment strategy types including engineer-to-order, make-to-order, assemble-to-order, and make-to-stock Work with the team to establish, execute, and maintain the planning, sales, and inventory process.
QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES): Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or another related field Minimum 6 year’s experience in a production/materials planning role in a manufacturing environment 3+ years experience utilizing continuous improvement methodologies and concepts such as LEAN, Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, or equivalent Demonstrated understanding of Manufacturing Planning and Control and its constituent parts including Sales & Operations Planning, Master Scheduling, Production Control, Distribution Requirements Planning, and Rough-Cut Capacity Planning
APICS CPIM/CSCP
