Fusion Optix Fusion Optix is expanding its U.S.-based manufacturing operations and is seeking a Production Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing for our advanced optical materials and components. This is a key leadership role overseeing a range of plastics processing technologies including film extrusion, sheet and profile extrusion, secondary processing, and the planned expansion into precision injection molding. Fusion Optix manufactures highly engineered optical films, sheets, profiles, and fabricated components serving lighting, display, imaging, and photonics markets. The Production Manager will be responsible for leading day-to-day operations, building a high-performance team, and driving quality, scalability, and continuous improvement as we grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team of operators, technicians, engineers, and support staff across multiple manufacturing processes.
Manage production for:
Roll-to-roll optical film extrusion. Profile and sheet extrusion (PMMA, PC, PS, COC, COP, etc.). Coating, lamination, and surface treatments. Laser cutting, CNC machining, and die cutting. Optical bonding, finishing, and secondary processing. Expansion into injection molding of optical-grade plastics. Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management. Drive yield improvement, throughput optimization, and material utilization across all processes. Ensure strict quality standards for optical clarity, flatness, dimensional tolerances, and surface finish. Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, SPC, and continuous improvement programs. Collaborate with R D and Engineering to support new product introductions and process development. Maintain a safe, compliant, and well-maintained manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
7+ years of leadership experience in plastics manufacturing, ideally with experience in extrusion and/or injection molding of optical or precision plastic components. Strong technical knowledge of plastics processing, tooling, and downstream operations.
Experience with optical-grade materials:
PMMA, PC, PS, COC, COP.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and build high-performing teams. Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving capability. Experience implementing quality systems, SPC, and process controls. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Plastics/Polymer Science, Manufacturing, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Why Join Fusion Optix?
