  • Job Summary/Description:
  • Responsible for master control operation, transmitter remote control, video control, and satellite reception control.

Monitor all on-air content. Responsible for teleprompting newscasts, checking studio lights, coding newscasts for Overdrive, operating Cambotics, Logitech, and having a basic knowledge of video switchers is a must.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operate the master control automation.

Oversee changing batteries in the wireless mics, IFBs and setting up anchor/reporter positions.

Code Scripts through ENPSAnticipate/prepare for breaking news.

Monitor multiple program streams to ensure correct programming and commercial run times, record any discrepanciesPrepare the electronic playlist that facilitates program streamsIngest commercials, programming, and other material into automation system for broadcast – input and trim spotsOperate Ross Cambotics.

Operate Ross Overdrive and must have a basic knowledge of video switchers.

Operate Logitech audioHelp change studio lights and operate a light board . . . setup studio for broadcast.

Operate Prompter for newscastTune in to live shots for newsCoordinate satellite feedsReact quickly and appropriately to any issues with equipment and breaking newsCommunicate any issues in detail, and communicate with producers before the live newscast on unusual changes.

Interact with other departments to obtain missing broadcast material, clarify instructions, and/or resolve technical issuesWork weekend and weekday shiftsPerform other job-related duties as assigned

  • Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of TV video productionVideo tape experience – must be familiar with multiple tape and tapeless formatsGeneral knowledge of TV broadcastingWorking knowledge of Crispin Video ServerWorking knowledge of Ross Overdrive and CamboticsBasic knowledge of ENPSAbility to follow written and verbal directions, able to communicate clearlyMust be able to operate analog and digital broadcast equipment, software, broadcast video tape recorders, video servers, audio/video routers, audio and video control consoles, satellite receivers, and television transmittersProficient use of computers, including Microsoft Office and GoogleBasic knowledge of the station’s programming scheduleAbility to stay focused while monitoring signal quality and programming accuracyMust be able to handle high-stress situations and pressure deadlinesAble to react quickly to changing circumstances while remaining calmAttention to detail is requiredMust have good problem-solving skillsLeadership skills neededAbility to work independently with little supervision, and initiative to address issues immediatelyAble to work well with others in the department as well as other departmentsMust be flexible to work any shift, including weekends, overnights, a d holidaysAbility to remain positive and foster a positive work environmentA High School diploma or GED is requiredSBE certification is a plus•If you feel youre qualified and want to work with a great group of people, go to•https://gray.
