Mississippi TV, LLC has an immediate opening for a Full Time Producer.
Brief Description
Are you a news junkie? Are you creative, passionate about telling stories and want to use
your writing skills to make a difference? WTVA in beautiful Tupelo, Mississippi, needs a
focused, detail-oriented producer to join our award-winning news team.
The ideal candidate will be able to produce fast-paced, hard-hitting newscasts, understand
basic producing functions including rundowns, newscast timing and meeting production
needs. Will work with anchors and reporters, editing, writing news stories. Other duties
include writing and editing stories to the and social media.
The ideal candidate must be a team player, work well under deadlines,municate
effectively and show leadership skills. We’re looking for great, newsroom citizens.
Duties required but are not limited to: working knowledge of the news gathering process,
strong news judgement and the ability to frame stories effectively. Knowledge of proper
grammar is a must. This person must thrive under pressure, able to make quick decisions
and adapt to last-minute changes.
Minimum Requirements
Four-year college or university degree and/or previous experience in a television, , or
newsroom preferred.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
