Job Description:

Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Multimedia and Production Manager position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 34 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI). The Multimedia Production Manager will manage the production of live video content for Brown Athletics, including ESPN+ home events, video scoreboards, and other video projects. This role ensures that Brown’s athletic facilities and video control rooms are equipped to support video streaming needs and manages the daily operations of video production for athletic events. Key responsibilities include assisting with video production, staff management, and coordinating multimedia efforts in collaboration with other departments. Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in video production or a related field, minimum three (3) years professional experience, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Experience producing live events for linear TV, producing sporting events, intercollegiate athletics or professional sports
  • Three (3) years of working in sports video production, including creative storytelling experience; strong knowledge of filming, photography, editing, color grading, audio mixing, and production required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After Effects finalization required.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working in athletics at a college/university or comparable Job Competencies
    Demonstrated experience in conceiving and producing strong visual stories through video and optimizing formats across platforms
    Extensive experience with video equipment and tools supporting video production, including cameras, lighting kits, and audio equipment
    Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite’s Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Apple’s Final Cut Pro and other A/V editing software
    Ability to organize and keep track of large amounts of media
    Knowledge of copyright, image permissions and fair use protocols for music and video resources supporting production.

Strong work ethic, passion for the profession and commitment to student-athletes
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms for higher education, business, political or other clients. Demonstrated skill in social media content generation, skill in interpersonal communication, collaboration and prioritization of work assignments required.
Experience in working with deadlines and turning around high-quality projects from point of inception to finalization of production on a day-to-day basis required.
Ability to work extended daily hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Develop strategies in alignment with Brown’s policies and protocols relating to visual identity, image use, Web hosting, accessibility, and vendor hiring. Follow established Brown University identity and messaging priorities.
Coordinate with internal campus constituents, including the Office of University Communications, as needed for projects requiring collaboration and input from other University stakeholders. All positions require demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and other Brown and community stakeholders with diverse perspectives and demonstrated ability to contribute to an inclusive environment.
