in Tupelo-Columbus, Mississippi, has an immediate opening for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ). Do you want to work with one of the best news and weather teams in the Southeast? WTVA has an exciting opportunity to join our award-winning newsroom as an MMJ. This is a terrific opportunity for talented and focused journalists looking for that first job right out of college. This position could also be a good fit for someone with behind the scenes experience looking for an on-air opportunity. The ideal candidate must be able to dig for stories, turn them on tight deadlines, and go live on location. Our MMJs shoot, write and edit their own content for our on-air, digital, and social media platforms. Our MMJs thrive on breaking news, current events and they know what is happening in the market. We are looking for passionate and dedicated team members who are team players and good newsroom citizens. Excellent time management skills are required. - Must have a four-year college or university degree and/or previous experience in a television, radio, print or online newsroom.
- Must undergo a pre-employment background check and drug test.
- Must be a licensed driver and insurable for a motor vehicle.
- Must undergo a writing test.
