As part of a growing media group, we’re expanding our weekend team and looking for an enthusiastic individual eager to learn and contribute as a Weekend Digital Anchor and Multimedia Journalist.

Are you an aspiring journalist with a passion for digital storytelling and connecting with audiences online? Fay News 10, part of the LWood Media Group, has a part-time weekend opening for an entry-level Digital Anchor/Multimedia Journalist on a 1099 contract basis . This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience anchoring digital newscasts and creating compelling multimedia content. We’re looking for a motivated individual eager to learn how to present news effectively online, write engaging digital stories, capture compelling video and photos, and utilize social media to connect with our audience. This role primarily focuses on weekend news coverage and digital platforms. Responsibilities (with training and mentorship): Learn and practice anchoring short-form digital newscasts and live streams. Develop on-camera presence and clear, concise delivery for online audiences. Learn and apply the principles of journalistic writing for web and social media. Develop skills in shooting high-quality video and capturing impactful still photos. Gain proficiency in basic video and photo editing for digital platforms. Understand and actively contribute to the station’s social media strategy and engagement. Learn how to create graphics and other visual elements to enhance digital storytelling. Collaborate with reporters and producers on weekend news coverage. Pitch story ideas relevant to the weekend audience and digital platforms. Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic ethics and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Enthusiasm for news and a strong interest in digital media and online communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable being on camera and presenting information clearly. Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, particularly on weekend shifts. Willingness to learn new digital technologies and adapt to evolving online platforms. Must have reliable transportation (a car or SUV model year 2010 or newer) and a valid driver’s license. Availability to work consistent weekend hours.
Compensation & Benefits:
