General assignment reporter Position Available In Hillsborough, New Hampshire

The independently owned New Hampshire Union Leader isseeking a full-time general assignment reporter. We are looking for a self-starter, effectivecommunicator and skilled multi-tasker who has a strong interest in communityjournalism.

The Union Leader’s emphasis is on finding substantive,exclusive news stories of relevance to readers. If you want to spend the day inthe newsroom re-writing press releases, this position is not for you.

The ideal candidate will have:

daily reporting experience, including both hard news and featuresthe ability to identify and develop sources and generate audience-oriented story ideasexperience reporting, organizing and producing longer-form investigative and enterprise features.news photography skills We are looking for a detail-oriented reporter who iscreative, willing to learn and open to new experiences. This position will bewhat you make of it. Responsibilities will include daily news coverage, onboth print and digital platforms. The schedule is likely to include Sundayshifts. Some holidays may also be required.

This is not a remote position. Our staff works in thenewsroom, which is a collaborative, team-driven environment, and in the field.

Full-time salary:
