We seek a correspondent who has solid news judgment, exceptional reporting skills, strong storytelling abilities, and an accessible and confident on-air delivery. The correspondent should be at ease covering news of day, breaking news, or enterprise stories. While based in New York assignments will also often include responding to and covering major breaking news or news events elsewhere across the country.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Pitch stories that are of interest to a national news audience and that offer the opportunity for original reporting and unique storytelling Cover news of day, breaking news, and enterprise stories for all NewsNation platforms Be a compelling storyteller who crafts active and engaging scripts, delivers dynamic stand-ups, and incorporates first-rate broadcast technology Effectively use reporting tools to break news and advance stories Collaborates with producers and photojournalists to produce content for both broadcast and digital Fronts live reports in a way which is credible, compelling, and authoritative Develops and maintains strong contacts and relationships with sources Researches, pitches and reports out enterprise stories Maintains high journalistic and editorial standards Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by network leadership Requirements & Skills A bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism or related degree preferred Five or more years of national or major market experience reporting and anchoring experience required Must have strong editorial judgment Must be detail-oriented and have excellent written and verbal communication Demonstrated ability to write superior broadcast scripts Must be able to juggle multiple tasks under deadlines Must be able to work varied shifts: weekends, holidays, nights, overnights, or early mornings. Must be flexible, able to travel often on short notice for assignments Must have a valid driver’s license as driving and travel will be required Must join

Salary Range:

$110,000 to $150,000
