Job Description

Multimedia Reporter Roman Catholic Diocese of Knoxville 805 South Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919 This role will create engaging content for the East Tennessee Catholic newspaper, our website, and social media platforms, connecting with our diverse and growing community across East Tennessee. Our Communications Office shares the mission and activities of our diocese through various media channels, including our award-winning newspaper, the East Tennessee Catholic. This position works closely with our Hispanic Ministry. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Functions

  • Write compelling news stories, features, and profiles for the East Tennessee Catholic newspaper.
  • Create written and visual content in both English and Spanish.
  • Report on diocesan events, parish activities, and community outreach.
  • Produce photography and video content for multiple platforms.
  • Design graphics and layout for print and digital publications.
  • Manage and update website content and social media channels.
  • Collaborate with parish communication representatives.
  • Meet regular newspaper publication deadlines.
  • Other duties as needed.

Required Education, Skills, Experience and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere). Excellent writing and editing skills, particularly for newspaper journalism. Strong photography and basic videography abilities. Experience with content management systems and social media platforms. Knowledge and respect for Catholic teachings and traditions. Valid driver’s license and insurance with the ability to travel throughout East Tennessee. Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Be available for occasional weekend and evening work. Preferred Qualifications
