Schedule:
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 16 hrs./week. Schedule is subject to change.

Reports to Museum Store Manager Job Summary The Toy Specialist represents the Museum Store as a business within a non-profit business and is responsible for customer service, merchandising, and selling in a fast-paced environment. As well as facilitating purposeful exploration and play through excellent products and exhibit knowledge. Responsibilities and Duties Promote the culture and brand of LCM. Project a positive image of the organization to employees, volunteers, guests, and the community. Assist in meeting annual sales goal of $250,000. Provide customer service and attend to visitor, customer, and vendor needs. Sell inventory and check out guests through the Point-of-Sale system. Assist with strategic inventory merchandising to maximize sales. Assist with receiving and processing inventory shipments. Maintain a clean and attractive store setting with optimal product placement for maximum sales. Facilitate open or guided experiences in the learning and play environments throughout the store. Support planning and facilitation for annual events, such as festivals or large programs. Collaborate with staff and community partners to maximize mission delivery and community engagement. Participate in weekly planning sessions with the Museum Store Manager for successful delivery and impact on young children, knowledge sharing with caretakers. Support training and coordination of employees, volunteers, and strategic partners who will be working alongside the Museum Store. Coordinate with other Toy Specialists, Visitor Services Associates, and volunteers. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of retail experience Proficient in POS systems and MS Office 365 Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications 1 year of TAM Retail Software Experience 1 year of Early Childhood Development Experience
