Schedule:
Weekdays only, with occasional early morning or evening hours. Actual schedule will be informed by gallery needs and applicant’s availability. About the Role Nahcotta is seeking a Gallery + Fulfillment Assistant to support the daily logistics and behind-the-scenes operations of our gallery and retail shipping. This hands-on, in-person position is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable with both physical work and independent tasks. The role involves both artwork handling and fulfillment responsibilities, evolving over time through a phased training plan. Key Responsibilities Paint and patch gallery walls, install labels, and assist with artwork hanging and show setup Pack and ship both original artwork and retail orders Maintain organized art storage and manage artist returns Assist with art wall refreshes and daily shipping logistics (e.g., pickups, tracking) Over time, take on solo installations, supply ordering, and special order assistance Occasionally help receive deliveries and take on one-off projects or seasonal tasks Requirements Reliable weekday availability, with flexibility for occasional off-hours (installing artwork before gallery opens, etc) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Comfort with physical tasks like lifting (50lbs+), bending, and standing for periods of time An independent, self-motivated work style — this is not a public-facing position High level of trustworthiness and respect for delicate, high-value artwork Tech savvy – role requires use of multiple software systems which you will be trained in Preferred but not required: Experience in shipping, art handling, or gallery environments Additional Info A personal vehicle is helpful for occasional package drop-offs (mileage reimbursed) Role evolves in phases; onboarding includes close supervision and gradually builds toward independent tasks
