Role:
Mass Virtual is looking for an experienced Sound Design Supervisor to oversee the audio production process for our XR Projects. The Sound Design Supervisor will lead a talented team of designers, ensuring that all aspects of projects are executed successfully while also designing immersive and innovative experiences. (Demo reel must be submitted with application). What you’ll be doing: Design innovative solutions to unique opportunities in immersive audio Collaborate with multi-functional teams to achieve compelling experiences Test, debug, and QA all audio for products Manage all aspects of audio assets development Work with our Engineering Teams on audio functionality, performance, optimization, and diagnosing bugs to develop next-gen audio technologies Work within budgets for the given platforms Work independently on audio asset sets Approve and implement assets coming from outsourcing partners Assist with managing recording sessions Research new equipment and audio tools for future implementation Mentorship of Junior Sound Designers through participation in quality reviews, and giving and receiving constructive feedback Responsible for the review and approval of direct report time sheets and time-off approvals in Costpoint Regularly meet with direct reports through bi-weekly or semi-monthly 1:1 to discuss performance and goals Responsible for conducting annual performance reviews for direct reports Assist with the onboarding and training of new team members Lead projects by creating JIRA boards, tasks, running daily meetings, and taking responsibility for any successes or failures of the project or the team’s work Take ownership of multiple projects to ensure the success of any projects led by those on your team, regularly checking in with the team to ensure they have everything they need to succeed Some travel maybe required What you need to succeed: 5+ years of Professional Sound Design and Implementation experience focused on high quality games or immersive experiences Experience leading teams in a production environment Experience modifying and debugging Game Engines (ex. Unity, Unreal, etc.) Experience with Soundly or an alternative sound library management software Experience designing Audio in an AR/VR experience Extensive Programming experience with the following languages: C#, C+++, Python Experience implementing, modifying, and debugging audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD, etc.) Audio Editing and Processing Experience Field Recording Experience Experience with organizing documentation Experience working with Perforce, Git, and Jira Extensive Experience working with Digital Audio Workstations (Adobe Audition, Nuendo, ProTools, etc.) Well versed in 3D Spatial Audio Implementation Experience with Adobe Audition, and other professional DAW’s Experience mixing in a variety of mediums, such as mobile and spatial audio Ability to perform work in accordance with prescribed deadlines, on time and high quality Focused, motivated and effective on all tasks through completion Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written English language skills Must be eligible to obtain Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required) A passion for XR technology and games Great to
