AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for development, and submission preparation of all assigned equipment and system/special manuals: Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations and trade journals. Preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Interfaces with subject matter experts and other engineering personnel during the development of these products. Responsible for interfacing with OEMs/Suppliers to obtain Vendor Furnished Information as needed Responsible for interfacing sub-contractor personnel on all technical manual related issues Responsible for ensuring all change order activity that impacts assigned technical manuals is processed, documented and communicated to rest of ILS Team Successful applicant must be willing to cross-train to other areas within ILS asnecessary

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE

3 years of Navy/USCG/MSC technical manual development experience Knowledge of

XML/SGML

tagging procedures preferred Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience interacting with internal and external customers High School diploma or equivalent required. Related degrees advantageous Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office products. Prior U.S. Navy, MSC or USCG experience desired, but not required
