Job Description
First Division Consulting is seeking a highly capable Technical Writer to provide direct support to the US Navy N5 department, handling a range of writing and documentation tasks from routine correspondence to major technical publications.
Responsibilities will include:
+ Will be responsible for producing, formatting, and editing a variety of official documents, including technical publications, manuals, policies, instructions, forms, memorandums, and letters. + Day-to-day responsibilities will involve drafting and finalizing routine correspondence and documents for the N5 department, such as official letters and memorandums for record. + Intermittent needs like drafting command histories, evacuation plans, and resource requirement justifications based on input from government/military leads. + The writer will take the lead on drafting and finalizing significant products like digitally delivered Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS), Job Qualification Requirements (JQR), and various student-related forms. + All work will be created and maintained within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to ensure seamless, real-time collaboration with the N5 team. Requirements + Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of relevant experience. + Experience with Navy Correspondence Manual (Preferred). + Strong understanding and correct use of Navy terminology in written materials (Preferred). + Expertise in MS Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications is required. + Expertise with Adobe products is required. + Must possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English. + Must possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. + Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
