$42.6K – $48.5K a year 15 hours ago Qualifications Research Mid-level High school diploma or GED Bachelor’s degree 2 years Full Job Description Department The Office of Human Subjects Protection within the Office of Research seeks to fill the IRB Regulatory Support Specialist position. Responsibilities Assists and provides faculty with subject matter expertise, guidance, instructions and editing for creating and submitting initial IRB (Institutional Review Board) studies and initial follow-on submissions, including related regulatory documentation and reviews (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, external IRB, JIT, FDA, other ancillary reviews). Advises and assists faculty with preparing and maintaining pre-submission through post-approval IRB-related regulatory files, including faculty self-audits, in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and related policy and guidance. Provides 1-on-1 or group IRB systems training for faculty submission of studies for IRB review, including conducting and evaluating IRB systems training needs assessment, developing content and platforms tailored to researchers’ and departments’ needs, delivering training sessions, and evaluating feedback for continuous quality improvement. Partners with external institutions to develop pre-submission guidance and templates as well as assist faculty in the coordination of external institutions’ human research regulatory reviews. May perform other human subjects-related duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years of human subjects experience. Degree may be substituted by a high school diploma/equivalent, additional three years of related human subjects experience with documentation of increasingly advanced human subjects protection responsibilities, and certificate of completion in business courses at the equivalent rate. Must be a certified IRB professional (CIP), or obtain CIP certification within three years of hire. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a frontline research position, or experience in assisting researchers in preparing research materials. Candidates will have the ability to work with administrative systems and electronic platforms, be familiar with relevant research regulations (e.g.
NIH, FDA
) and possess familiarity with funded research. Ability to adhere to ethical business practices and promote ethical behavior. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to meet project deadlines. Ability to prepare, coordinate, and conduct workshops. Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering, and respecting others’ input personal values, and ethics. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
