Product Analyst (PA) works within the IMT organization and with various departments around the enterprise, to ensure that development projects are documented with high quality user instructions. This role is critical to the product management process; ensuring detailed business requirements are written and accompanied by wireframes/design specifications, for approval by the project team/project managers and stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
PM analyst will create operating instructions, how-to manuals, assembly instructions, and “frequently asked questions” pages to help technical support staff, students, faculty and administration staff.
PM analyst will lead and facilitate meeting solutions management, quality assurance, and customer service to improve the end-user experience through solution design changes.
PM analyst will work independently, engaging with developers and quality assurance to manage the flow of information among project workgroups during development and testing.
PM analyst must be able to understand complex information and communicate the information to people with diverse professional backgrounds.
Able to work with little supervision to create proper requirements which reduce re-work after the sprint cycle is complete, thereby ensuring functional design descriptions are properly conveyed to the programmers and integrated into the QA process.
Other Responsibilities:
Applying their knowledge of the solution, PM analyst may serve as part of a team conducting usability studies to help improve the design of a product that is in the prototype stage or managing roadmap features.
PM analyst may conduct research on their topics through personal observation, library and Internet research, and discussions with technical specialists.
PM Analyst will create and execute communication plans and engage product end users to solicit and formulate product ideas that can turn into roadmap features.
PM analyst must be comfortable with hardcopy documentation tools as well as interactive technologies to blend text, graphics, multidimensional images, sound, and video.
Knowledge of CSS and html is preferred.

Ability to determine the needs of end users of technical documentation
Ability to study product samples and talk with product designers and developers
Ability to organize and write supporting documents for products
Ability to select appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos
Ability to standardize content across platforms and media
Ability to gather usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers
Ability to revise documents as new issues arise
With guidance, ability to document internal application documentation, such as API’s, data formats, etc.

Understanding of waterfall and agile development processes

Experience:
Associates or Bachelors Degree required
Computer/Equipment Skills:
Basic knowledge of web development processes & technologies
Basic to intermediate knowledge of desktop and mobile environments
Good grasp on multimedia documentation tools and techniques
Basic to Intermediate knowledge of css preferred
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:
Some overtime during important projects.
