Job Summary:
The Technical Writer will provide support and assistance to the Laboratory Technical Management team to help ensure that technical documents are revised and updated per regulatory standards and internal procedures. This position will coordinate and prioritize writing documents, including a rotating review and maintenance of existing documents. This position will routinely collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and Quality, while all documents must be proofread by departmental managers prior to submission for approval.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review and revise procedures, policies and other laboratory technical documents in compliance with the company’s established guidelines.
- Evaluate and recommend revisions to documents.
- Prioritize an ongoing list of SOPs, policies, forms to be revised or created.
- Collaborate with Management and QA to develop and update training materials.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), when necessary
- Assist with transitioning projects as necessary.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably Medical Technology, with at least 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.).
- Proficiency in English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Ability to write clearly and informatively and ability to read and interpret written information.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and balance multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
- Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships with internal clients.
- Experience working in a laboratory, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment, and understanding of laboratory standards (CAP/CLIA) with a focus on document control or quality assurance is a plus.
