Senior Technical Writer, Information Security Position Available In Fulton, Georgia

Overview We are seeking a Senior IT, InfoSec, Risk and Controls Technical Writer to join our IT Risk and Controls department. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop, write, and maintain comprehensive IT policies and controls documentation for Information Security and IT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, a deep understanding of Information Security and IT risk management, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation. Responsibilities

• Develop, write, review, and maintain documentation IT related polices to ensure they are current, comprehensive, and aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Develop plans to support, risk assessments, system configurations, and security architecture
• Document and maintain IT controls including control objectives, procedures, and evidence requirements
• Collaborate with InfoSec, IT, DevOps, Compliance, Legal, and various stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy of content
• Translate regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, CMMC, HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) into required documentation
• Assist in developing security training and awareness materials for internal staff
• Create technical documentation for secure software development practices, threat modeling, and security architecture
• Ensure all documentation is version-controlled, accessible, and aligned with internal governance frameworks
• Review, edit, and standardize documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with industry best practices
• Contribute to and participate in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing any findings related to IT policies and controls
• Understand applicable regulations and associated IT and cybersecurity control frameworks Senior IT, InfoSec Technical Writer
• Stay current on risk management, cybersecurity/threats, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to ensure documentation remains relevant and effective

Qualifications Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within IT, information security, risk management, or related field

Relevant Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, information systems, information security, computer science, technical writing, or related field
• Certifications in CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CGRC, CRMA, CISM, etc.
• Experience with IT General Controls and auditing
• Experience with

NIST, PCI

DSS, GDPR, CCPA, and SOC frameworks

• Experience in ITIL and/or Process Improvement
• Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions like: Archer and SNOW
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills
• Excellent business partnership, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong tactical and strategic thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills
