Technical Writer
PURPOSE AND DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of the Technical Writer is to develop, write and modify accurate technical documents for internal Global Management System needs and external customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop, write and edit materials to document Global Management System processes, including, but not limited to Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Work Instructions, Operating Deviations, and Quality Alerts Assure compliance with internal ISO procedures (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018) through proofing, editing, and releasing accurate documents Support external compliance audits for surveillance and recertification in addition to attaining new certifications Observe production and work with Operations to develop complete and understandable process documents Assume responsibility for technical accuracy and completeness of all project documents and related technical publications Conduct internal Audits and work with Operations to correct document Non-conformance items As required, develop, write, and edit external customer technical documents including, but not limited to, publications, service notes, procedures, and promotional material As required, assist in developing, writing, and editing training materials Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The following are required to enable job holders to perform the essential functions of the job.
Skills/knowledge:
Excellent computer skills including a proficiency in all MS Office applications and familiarity with other tools such as Web usage, Adobe, Adobe Acrobat, and HTML, etc. Proficiency in Visio and SharePoint is a plus Knowledgeable of technical standards and operating procedures Excellent communication and organizational skills High degree of professionalism Self-motivated acting autonomously with little direction Outstanding research, writing, organizing and technical skills
Experience/Education:
High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred 1 to 3 years’ experience in a related field such as the ISO Certified Wireless or Telecommunications industry
Environment:
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may spend 4-8 per day sitting and working at a computer. The ability to adjust focus, use hands to grasp, finger, handle, reach or feel and sit for prolonged periods are needed for this position. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication utilizing a headset.
