Position Summary We are seeking a Technical Writer to create, manage, and maintain clear, accurate, and accessible documentation for both technical and non-technical users. This role bridges the gap between complex technical processes and end-user understanding, serving engineering, operations, production, and compliance needs across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong writing skills, technical understanding, and document control knowledge to ensure high-quality, compliance, and scalable documentation practices. Key Responsibilities Documentation Development Create and maintain a full suite of documentation, including policies, SOPs,work instructions, technical manuals, service guides, training materials, and engineering process documents. Translate complex engineering concepts and manufacturing processes into clear, user-friendly documents. Collaboration & Information Gathering Work directly with engineers, production leads, quality assurance, and leadership to extract accurate technical details. Attend project meetings to stay informed on changes that affect documentation. Content Management & Compliance Maintain up-to-date, version-controlled documents aligned with industry standards and internal workflows. Ensure documentation is audit-ready and compliant with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO, OSHA, CJIS). Visual Aids & Diagrams Develop and integrate schematics, wiring diagrams, flowcharts, and other visuals to enhance understanding. Use tools such as Visio or equivalent platforms to standardize technical illustrations. Proposal & Training Support Assist in the creation of technical content for proposals and customer-facing documentation. Contribute to onboarding and training initiatives by developing instructional documentation. Process Improvement Identify gaps and opportunities to improve documentation processes and standardize practices across departments. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field. 3-5 years of technical writing experience, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, or technology environments. Top Skills Ability to write and organize complex technical documentation. Strong understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing workflows. High attention to detail, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistency. Technical Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat). Familiarity with ISO standards, change control, SOP creation, and document control systems. Preferred Experience in the public safety or law enforcement tech industry. Knowledge of compliance standards such as CJIS, OSHA, or

ISO 9001.
