UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI

The University of Miami has entered a long-term partnership with Legends to oversee athletics, ticket sales, customer service, annual fund solicitation/engagement, ticket operations, digital marketing, corporate partnerships, and multi-media rights opportunities. In addition, Legends will represent the University in developing campus-wide strategic partnerships. As the exclusive partner for Miami Athletics, Legends will engage Hurricanes fans and donors, local and regional South Florida businesses, and national brands with unique and integrated sponsorship, ticketing, and hospitality options.

THE ROLE

The Manager, Creative and Video Content will work closely with the Communications, Partnerships, Sales, Service, Engagement, and Consumer Marketing teams within Miami Athletics to create content that will engage and inspire the fan base.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Shoot and edit short-form and long-form video content to be used across social media platforms, YouTube, and MiamiHurricanes.com. Proactively ideate and pitch video content that will enhance the Miami Hurricanes brand and drive revenue for the department. Collaborate with the Digital Strategy and Communications departments to coordinate video shoots, including audio and lighting needs. Create detailed shot lists, question lists and write scripts for creative projects. Ensure on-time deliverables by adhering to content calendars, accessible by multiple stakeholders in the department. Attend home (and select road) games for all 18 of Miami’s athletic teams. Shoot and deliver footage for media requests and external needs including but not limited to press conferences, highlight melts, interviews, etc. Storyboard, shoot and edit intro videos for select Miami teams. Provide coverage for annual departmental events, both sponsored and unsponsored. Other duties as assigned by the Director, Creative Services.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Experience with production workflow for video and digital communications. Strong storytelling skills, from the initial storyboard to final execution and distribution. Ability to work under time constraints and meet assigned deadlines. Experience operating and maintaining professional digital video and audio equipment including Cinema, DSLR and mirrorless camera systems (i.e., Sony, Canon, RED, Blackmagic). Proficiency in digital editing software (Premiere, After Effects, Avid Media Composer, Davinci Resolve, Media Encoder) and manually color-grading video. Ability to manage multiple projects at once. Knowledge of After Effects a plus. Familiarity of basic lighting setup and audio capture. Experience managing, organizing, labeling, and uploading assets from shoots. Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills. Ability to work nights and weekends required. Some travel with teams required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a video-related field and a minimum of 3-5 years working experience, or equivalent education and experience. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
