Amazon is looking for a highly skilled Digital Photography Technician. Successful candidates will be self-starters, strong communicators, very detail-oriented and highly organized. The Digitechs will be responsible for asset management and automation of process using scripts. The Digitech will also be responsible for performing quality checks and providing feedback to the artists for all digital assets created, archiving and maintenance of the assets and act as the primary point of contact for post-productions teams. The candidate will need a strong background in computer hardware and software, be able to recommend new technologies. Key job responsibilities Manages completed studio asset delivery to post-production team. Supports site-specific software and hardware troubleshooting and maintenance to reduce downtime and maximize productivity, escalates to IT where necessary. Build and maintain a range of internal tools that manage asset flow, error checking and delivery or interface with other Amazon internal tools, and automate manual tasks for the Creative Teams. Ensure Imaging standards are maintained. Provide guidance to new and established freelance Digitechs, Photographers, and Video Editors. Resolves customer/vendor related problems and quality issues related to digital assets. Execute on business metrics such as: image coverage, image quality, and studio throughput, by performing quality assurance, contact resolution, and developing new processes. Pilot new processes and initiatives and provide feedback to ensure successful implementation. Look for process improvement opportunities to streamline, increase productivity, or reduce defects; optimize through automation; define and implement projects to address those needs. Coordinate with software development team to implement continual system innovations. Coordinate with photographers, stylists, digital technicians, videographers, and video editors to identify existing process roadblocks and improvement opportunities. Utilize appropriate digital asset management techniques to track products between photography and video bays.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in digital photography, video production, or related field. Proficiency with Windows and Mac OS Operating Systems. Comfortable interacting with a computer via a command line / terminal. Experience with digital photo/video asset and file management and standards, including knowledge of video codecs, bitrates and scripting. Experience with computer programming (Bash Script, Powershell, Python or similar). Intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook. Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment. Ability to learn and master proprietary internal tools. Excellent Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills). Accustomed to the intensity of the studio environment, and deals well with deadline pressure. Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional experience as a retoucher, photo assistant, digital technician, video editor/technician in a commercial photography studio. Familiarity with Amazon Web Services. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $101,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
