Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Public Relations, the Videographer will lead video projects from concept to completion, producing content at the enterprise level that supports recruitment, retention and engagement across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
Develop, shoot, and edit a variety of high-quality video content including student/faculty stories, enterprise-level event coverage, social media clips, internal communication and other approved assignments.
Manage all phases of production, including pre-production planning, on-site filming, post-production editing, sound design, and color correction.
Collaborate with team members and departments across campus to evaluate, plan and execute videos that align with GGC’s brand and strategic messaging.
Maintain and manage video equipment, ensuring it is updated and in excellent working condition.
Ensure videos meet brand standards and accessibility requirements (e.g., captioning).
Archive raw footage and final deliverables for future use in the college¿s digital asset management system.
Stay informed about trends in video content creation, digital storytelling, and higher education marketing.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to student assistants or interns.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
4 Year / Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, or a related field.
Five (5) years of professional experience in videography and video editing
Preferred Qualifications
Background or experience in multimedia journalism, including storytelling for digital platforms.
Experience working in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
FAA Part 107 drone pilot certification.
Experience with motion graphics and animation.
Familiarity with accessibility standards for multimedia content.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficiency in editing/motion graphics software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro)
Proven ability to create compelling video content from concept to completion.
Strong knowledge of camera operation, lighting techniques, and audio capture.
Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
