This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who excels at producing accurate, comprehensive construction specifications aligned with architectural documentation and industry standards.

Position Overview:

The Specification Writer will be responsible for preparing and coordinating project manuals and technical specifications. This role plays a vital part in ensuring design intent is clearly communicated through well-organized documentation that meets regulatory requirements and supports construction-phase success.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop project specifications in coordination with architects, engineers, and consultants Ensure consistency between drawings and technical documentation Research and integrate appropriate materials, systems, and product data Maintain and update master specification templates and firm standards Support QA/QC processes and contribute to technical reviews Remain current on building codes, regulatory changes, and industry best practices

Qualifications:

3-5 years of experience in a specification writing or technical architecture role Proficiency with CSI MasterFormat and a strong understanding of construction materials and systems Experience using specification software and tools Excellent written communication and documentation skills Strong organizational abilities and a detail-focused mindset Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred This opportunity is ideal for professionals with a background in architectural design or construction documentation who are looking to specialize in a technical writing capacity.
