un ⚐ ⚑ ⚑ Seeking YouTube Comedy Writer compensation: 25/hour employment type: experience level: entry level job title: YouTube Comedy Writer YouTube sketch comedian with 30M+ monthly views is seeking talented writers to assemble a quasi-writer’s room and help brainstorm, pitch, and script comedy sketches, bits for Instagram, short song ideas, and much more. The ideal candidate will be very familiar with current successful creators on YouTube, the TikTok landscape, current trends, and internet culture. Basically, if you doom-scroll in bed and pop YouTube on the television to eat lunch, this might be for you. UCB Improv, Groundlings, Second City, etc. experience is a bonus.
Key Responsibilities:

Pitch Original Sketch Ideas:
Generate fresh and funny ideas that could work well in short video format and with the existing channel content library. You are encouraged to be brave, think QUICKLY, and contribute many video titles in a short period of time.

Write Scripts:
Outline and develop scripts with other writers for comedy sketches that align with the tone and brand of the YouTube channel.

Collaborate Creatively:
Work with others to refine ideas and scripts. Final Draft/Highland Pro proficiency desired.

Stay Relevant:
Create content that reflects current trends, memes, and online conversations. Bonus points for candidates with a musical background! Respond with your resume, work examples, and list a few of your YouTubers, Comedians, and/or TikTokers to be considered.
