Full Job Description Description:
The Customs Entry Writer is responsible for managing customs-related processes and ensuring compliance with customs regulations within the transportation and logistics industry. They facilitate the smooth flow of goods across borders by handling customs documentation, resolving issues, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of customs requirements. The Customs Entry Writer plays a critical role in minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency in customs clearance. Serve as the primary Customs representative for your customer account base, ensuring prompt response to customer inquiries and follow through on issues until resolution to customer satisfaction. Analyze and validate import documentation and data to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations prior to entry submission to U.S Customs and Partner Government Agencies (PGA). Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures. Maintains communications and provides customer service to customers, carriers, vendors and other Sparx offices. Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies related to customs entries and billing.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; and 2 years of related Customs entry experience. Prior experience in logistics, shipping, or customs-related role is preferred but not required. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
