Adult Education Instructors (Part-time)
Salary Schedule Placement:
Commensurate with education and experience according to Salary Schedule L LHRLY

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to adhering to the general guidelines as specified by the Faculty/Staff Handbook, the Department Chairperson, the Associate Dean of Learning, the Dean of Instruction, the President, and Board of Trustees, responsibilities includes the following:
Organize, instruct, and supervise students both in-person and online classes,
Teach bridge and career pathways classes,
Integrate career exploration, employment skills, and contextualized instruction into the adult education classes,
Extend learner’s knowledge and competency using technology,
Create and select materials choosing teaching styles that address individual learning styles,
Assist in the development, evaluation, and revision of the Adult Education curriculum,
Provide a respectful and supportive learning environment,
Assist in the recruitment of students,
Promote the Adult Education Program in the local area,
Assist the instructional supervisor with learner’s intake and orientation,
Participate in at least 0 hours of professional development,
Administer assessment instruments and develop a plan of instruction,
Submit weekly reports and monthly time sheets on time,
Enter weekly attendance into the AAESAP system,
Maintain a record for each learner and a record for monthly reports,
Maintain high moral and ethical standards,
Perform other duties as assigned by the Adult Education Director, the Dean of Technical and Workforce Development, the Dean of Instruction, and the President.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution,
Classroom teaching experience, Proficient computer skills,
Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
An understanding of and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the ,
Teaching experience at the K-2, Adult Education or Postsecondary level
Successful experience in a multi-leveled classroom
Ability to handle multiple tasks and various situations in a professional manner
Innovative, creative and effective teaching style
Experience working with the Alabama Adult Education System for accountability and performance.
