Job Description
Position Summary The Intake Clerk is an hourly employee performing duties in the adult education program. This position will work with other professional staff to conduct orientation and other related duties as assigned.
Salary Schedule:
Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E5 06 ( $28,836- $46,327)Essential Duties and Responsibilities Convey the expectation of success to students and provide a level of comfort that enables them to transition to the classroom with ease. Properly administer approved instructional assessments that are valid and reliable. Use these instruments to diagnose, evaluate, and develop a plan of instruction for each learner. Assess individual student learning styles with appropriate materials and teaching styles. Solve conflicts and problems in the orientation setting. Provide an environment that is respectful and supportive of students. Work with parents, classroom instructors, and college staff in related programs to make sure Students receive the most appropriate services. Assist the professional staff with other orientation and related duties as needed. Prepare and/or complete paperwork and perform other office duties that accompany the orientation process. Participate in all professional development opportunities provided by the instructional supervisor or the state adult and community education staff. Maintain accurate learner sign-in sheets Maintain up-to-date records on each student. Maintain a file of reports, procedures, notices, monitoring reports, evaluations, etc., from the director of adult education. Serve on college committees as appointed and attend meetings as required. Perform other duties as assigned and determined by the college.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
In performing job functions, some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying, and other movements may be required; lifting may require up to fifty pounds. Tasks such as typing and working at a computer keyboard involve extensive wrist and hand movements. The Adult Education Intake Clerk will be expected to work a flexible schedule, which may include day, evening, night, and weekend hours, as needed. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree or higher preferred A minimum of 3 years of work experience in an educational setting Good oral and written communication skills Must possess basic computer skills
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good organizational skills. Ability to work with a diversity of students, teachers, and staff.
