Job Summary:

The WAGETM (Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy) Program Coordinator/Instructor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering instruction and workforce preparation aligned with the WAGE program under the Adult Education department. This 100% grant-funded, 9-month position serves students in Union and Bradley Counties, preparing them for employment through contextualized instruction in essential workplace and academic skills. The coordinator will develop community partnerships, maintain program compliance, and track student progress toward obtaining WAGE certifications. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.

Salary:

Annual salary to commensurate with education and experience. Plus, excellent benefit package.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction to adult learners in the WAGETM program using approved curriculum and contextualized workforce materials.
  • Coordinate WAGE curriculum delivery across Union and Bradley Counties, including scheduling, site preparation, and materials management.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Adult Education to establish and maintain relationships with local employers, workforce agencies, and community partners to align Integrated Education and Training (IET/WAGETM Level II) curriculum with labor market needs.
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, student progress, and assessment data in compliance with state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the WAGETM and assessment computer labs.
  • Collaborate with other Adult Education staff to recruit and enroll learners, conduct orientations, and provide wraparound student support including transitions to further education or employment.
  • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and required training.
  • Promote the WAGETM program through outreach activities and employer engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and support diverse populations of adult learners.
  • Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills.
  • Capable of coordinating and managing instructional programs across multiple locations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and community stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in curriculum development and online learning design.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, email, and online learning platforms.
  • Organizational skills to manage schedules, documentation, and program reporting.
  • Flexibility and creativity in addressing diverse learner needs.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or related field.
  • Valid Arkansas teacher’s license.
  • Teaching experience in adult education, K-12, or workforce settings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Current Arkansas Adult Education certification or eligibility to obtain within three years.
  • Experience coordinating educational or workforce training programs.
  • Familiarity with adult education data systems and digital instructional tools.
  • Previous experience with the Arkansas WAGETM program or similar workforce readiness training.
  • Knowledge of local workforce and employer needs in Union and Bradley Counties.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in office or classroom settings.
  • Occasional travel between instructional sites in Union and Bradley Counties.
  • Occasionally lift instructional materials or equipment up to 25 lbs.
