JOB DESCRIPTION

To coordinate the Community Education Programs to ensure proper instruction and activities for students

REPORTS TO

Site Supervisor, Childcare Supervisor and Director of Community Education

JOB GOAL

To provide an enriching, exciting, and fun after school experience to the children enrolled in our Chelmsford Community Education Programs, ensuring all participants have a memorable time during any activities provided

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform various instructional, clerical and other related duties, under the direction of the teacher, to aid in meeting the objectives of the program, including the following: 1. Attend Mandatory Training before Extended Day Starts (TBD)
2. Provide the daily program plan.
3. Designated adult to work assisting a child with physical, developmental or emotional delays.
4. Ability to work on the floor, lift over 50lbs and other physical requirements as needed.
5. Under direction of Supervisor collaboratively create plans and activities to help children with behavioral or physical
challenges succeed.
6. Willingness to be trained, research supportive techniques as needed, and mentor colleagues in techniques.
7. Ability to implement and create activities for small groups.
8. Accept and adhere to all guidelines set forth.
9. Report necessary problems and/or information to supervisor.
10. Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students’ individualized needs.
11. Supervise and interact with students.
12. Assume responsibility for all necessary personal care needs of the children.
13. Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.
14. Attend and complete all required training.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • Individual shift time varies based on program needs and the needs of the students.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Experience working with age appropriate students in a school setting
  • Experience working with students with special needs required
  • Knowledge of classroom preparation and record keeping requirements
  • Related school experience desirable
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence of assigned responsibilities
  • Such alternative to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community Education
  • CORI and fingerprinting completed and accepted.
