Job Overview:
The Lebanon School District is seeking an Adult Education Literacy ESL Teacher to conduct level-appropriate English instruction for adult students in the areas of reading, listening, pronunciation, and communication. The Adult Education Literacy ESL Teacher would also be responsible for administering registration and assessments of incoming students.
Job Goals:
- Positively interact and build trusting relationships with students by creating a community within the class through a welcoming and empathetic learning environment for our diverse student population.
- Be communicative in your approach in order to foster participation in class.
- Put theory into a practical, real-world context.
- Conduct level-appropriate English instruction for adult students in the areas of reading, listening, pronunciation, and communication.
- Administer registration and assessments of incoming students.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
- Previous teaching experience, preferably adult students.
- Strong computer skills.
Familiarity with CANVAS is highly desired.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have good physical agility, which requires the following: bending, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 20 pounds, good dexterity, ability to reach, depth perception, color/peripheral/close vision, ability to adjust focus.
Pay:
This position is a grant position with pay of up to $40.00 per hour, scheduled for 39 weeks, ranging between 10 to 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.
