- Adult Education Program 募集概要: Aozora Communityでは、2025年9月より開講する社会人向け日本語クラスの講師を募集しています。受講生は、当園やアフタースクールプログラムに通う子どもたちの保護者を中心とした大人の学習者です。 私たちは、生涯学習を通じて多様な人々がつながり、学び合うコミュニティづくりを目指しています。探求心に富み、柔軟で思いやりのある地球市民を育てることをビジョンとし、日本の価値観や精神に根ざした質の高い教育の提供に努めています。
Position Type:
Part-time Class Structure and Compensation:
Each class consists of eight sessions (12 hours total): four in-person and four online sessions (90 minutes each) Sessions are held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Compensation ranges from $560
- 640 per class, based on qualifications and experience Compensation is contingent upon meeting the minimum enrollment requirement.
Classes may be canceled without compensation if under-enrolled Attendance at mandatory meetings (approx. 2 hours per Season) is required and included in the compensation

- Aug 27 Part-time Employee Benefits Staff discount is available for your children registering for Aozora programs Paid Sick Leave (in accordance with NYS law) Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent ; Coursework in education, language instruction, or linguistics is a plus Native-level fluency in Japanese with the ability to effectively teach Japanese language and culture Experience teaching or working with adult learners in a language instruction setting Commitment to teach for the full duration of one class (8 sessions) Candidates who are available for all 5 seasons (whole year) throughout the year are highly preferred Legal authorization to work in the United States (Visa sponsorship is not available for this position)
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven experience in curriculum development and lesson planning Deep understanding of Japanese culture, values, customs, and traditions Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles of adult students Experience with online teaching platforms
Skills and Attributes:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills Patience, flexibility, and passion for teaching adult learners Cultural sensitivity and ability to support a diverse learner population Ability to collaborate effectively with the Education Director and other team members Capability to create a comfortable and engaging learning environment for adult students
Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Activities Create a lesson plan with the Education Director Plan creative activities and implement culturally appropriate programs for students with multicultural backgrounds Teaching and Learning Deliver engaging and effective Japanese language instruction with high expectations for student engagement and achievement. Adapt teaching to accommodate varying proficiency levels and learning styles. Collaborate with the team to plan and sequence curriculum across the year. Provide students with timely and constructive feedback to support their progress. Environment and Facility Arrange and create the classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy Help maintain all materials and supplies and coordinate necessary items Provide an engaging and learner-centered classroom environment that captures the culture and language both to increase students’ sensitivity and their understanding of the language, values, customs, and tradition Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times Communication and Reports Keep students informed of the program expectations and the classroom activities Keep the Education Director informed of any necessary information regarding the students Related Duties Be familiar with all the school policies and procedures Be familiar with emergency plans and procedures Attend and participate in all staff meetings Attend and actively participate in various school and community events
