PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Prepare and provide lecture, laboratory and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum and at the direction of the Metal Trades Coordinator Coordinate delivery of curriculum and training with part-time instructors Follow current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program Complete and update records of attendance, retention and other documents as required Ensure compliance with all NEIT and Electric Boat policies and protocols Enforce all safety and PPE protocols Complete and maintain Electric Boat Competency Reports Complete Incident Reports and report incidents through chain of command as necessary Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled times Assist in the maintenance of all equipment and supply inventory. Secure consumable supplies as well as materials used in course from administrative office when needed Wear uniform shirts and maintain professional appearance at all times Communicate with Program Coordinator on all issues related to students and program. Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings set by the Program Coordinator Perform other duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without, reasonable accommodation. Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have strong leadership and organizational skills. Must have a valid driver’s license. Ability to professionally manage a classroom English language reading skills sufficient to read information on documents and files and to be able to organize paper files. English language writing skills sufficient for writing clear directions and memos. English language speaking skills sufficient to communicate in class, on the telephone and in person. Sufficient manual dexterity in both hands to be able to perform the duties of the job in both the classroom and lab. 3 years minimum shipfitting experience Postsecondary education preferred Microsoft Office Computer knowledge preferred
