Job Description:

This position requires a passion for effective teaching and advising of diverse students, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive state college mission. This position will assist with curriculum updates; the successful candidate will teach occupational skills and knowledge to provide students with the competence to become skilled in the field and to secure a job in their new career; demonstrate occupational materials, tools, equipment, and processes using standard or instructor-prepared instructional aides; instruct students in the appropriate safety precautions and the safe operation and use of tools and equipment; control the storage, maintenance, and use of materials and property to prevent loss or abuse; and establish and maintain standards of student conduct to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity-type classroom.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with an Electricity Certification or License plus 3 years of experience in the Electricity field. Proficiency with installation and repair of various types of commercial and residential wiring systems; working knowledge of residential and commercial Electricity, knowledge and application of local building code requirements, OSHA and EPA regulations, and job site safety are required. Must have reliable transportation. NCCER Craft Instructor Certification and prior teaching experience are preferred but not required.
