Job Description The primary responsibility of the instructional faculty member is to teach assigned courses in accordance with the mission and standards of the J. Frank White Academy.
- Currently filling a position and seeking an individual qualified in teaching language(s), Spanish preferred, but qualified applicants in French, German, and/or Latin will be considered.
Required Qualifications Elementary certification required; degree in subject area taught as well as 12 hours of professional education courses and six hours of coursework every five years taught; and - Tennessee certification in area of specialization or appropriate permit/interim license.

Job Duty
Job Duty promote the mission of the J. Frank White Academy and Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large
Job Duty - promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students
Job Duty participate on University committees
Job Duty teach classes assigned by the Principal
Job Duty develop and distribute a course syllabus for each class assigned, and present copies to students, parents and the Principal
Job Duty teach each class within the framework of the mission of the Academy, the University, and the syllabus as presented
Job Duty establish course objectives for each course taught and create lesson plans aligned with Tennessee standards for the grade and content area taught
Job Duty assist in revision of curriculum as assigned
Job Duty evaluate enrolled students and submit grades in a timely fashion
Job Duty requisition materials required
Job Duty participate in the evaluation process and utilize the results to improve teaching effectiveness
Job Duty participate in events that support the institution, the faculty, staff and students
Job Duty assist at Academy basketball games, parent nights, open houses, preview nights, commencement, fundraisers and other duties as assigned
Job Duty advise one Academy organization
Job Duty update knowledge and skills
Job Duty leave materials/plans for substitute teachers
Job Duty maintain compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/AdvancED requirements for faculty members
Job Duty comply with the Academy Faculty Handbook and the LMU Employee Handbook
Job Duty provide 180 days of instruction plus five full days of in-service
Job Duty •attend monthly faculty meetings
Job Duty participate on faculty committees as assigned
Job Duty •sponsor at least one student organization (including after school or evening work associated with this sponsorship)
Job Duty work athletic events and open house events during the year
Job Duty perform other duties as assigned
Job Duty complete required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University and the J.
Frank White Academy.
