$22.8K – $28.5K a year 2 days ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Entry level Full Job Description The Archivist position for Alabama Archives & History is responsible for the following: retrieve boxes of records from storage areas for research use; photocopy/scan archival records for public orders; greet, register & assist patrons with registration process; assist patrons with microfilm readers/printers/scanners; monitor use of records by researchers; answer patron’s questions in the research room & on phone; answer Research Room telephone & respond to questions or refer to appropriate staff member; re-shelve records, books and microfilm to appropriate locations; & perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Current Troy University student Preferred Qualifications 1. A history major/minor or interest in and/or familiarity with US & Alabama history 2. Attention to detail & ability to carefully handle materials that may be of historical value 3. Ability to work independently & to manage unexpected situations 4. Comfortable interacting with the public
