Archivist – Natchez, MS
Cadence Group seeks an innovative Archivist who is detail-oriented Archivist for a short-term project involving the handling and preservation of fragile documents. The ideal candidate will have experience in archival practices and a keen eye for detail.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Careful handling and preserving fragile documents, maps and photographic materials.
Organize and catalog/ index materials.
Ensure proper preservation of materials to prevent deterioration.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in archival work.
Knowledge of preservation techniques for fragile materials.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meticulously.
Need to be able to lift boxes up to 25 pounds
Work experience in archival or records management with a minimum of 2 years of experience or a master’s degree
NARA Certification in Federal Records Management is highly preferred
Knowledge and experience with historical documents
Familiarity with archival databases/ cataloging and or indexing
Attention to detail and accuracy, ability to respect confidentiality and perform routine work independently
Ability to communicate effectively and work in a multicultural environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
