Primary Purpose of Position:

The Digital Media Coordinator oversees the digital media assets for the division and serves as the lead photographer and videographer for the division. The primary function is to develop and manage a system to organize photos and videos across the state parks system. Key Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
Develop and oversee a system for managing digital media assets and archival files; including the digitization of thousands of current materials across the state parks system.
Organize all digital media assets into the developed file management system.
Create a project list of the most pressing digital media needs for the division.
Photograph subjects, events, landscapes, etc. across the state parks system.
Film video on set and on location across the state parks system.
Edit footage after recording, including the addition of closed caption, filing, and uploading to YouTube.
Oversee freelance digital media projects, as needed and approved by division leadership.
Visit state park offices and visitor centers and review archival materials.
Consult with State Archives on methodologies and workflow for digitizing archival materials across the state parks system.

Position/Physical Requirements:

Work schedule will primarily be Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Must be available to work after hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary. Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license within 90 days of employment.
Must be able to exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
Physical activities may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions with or without reasonable accommodation. Management Prefers:

Demonstrated experience using photography and/or videography.
Demonstrated experience using media production and/or audiovisual equipment.
Demonstrated experience managing file organization and digital asset management.
Demonstrated experience coordinating and administering digital media projects and initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media journalism, English, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution AND Two (2) years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work OR
