Visual Arts Instructor 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 1200 West Montgomery Road, Tuskegee, AL 36088 Position Information Position Title Visual Arts Instructor Job Summary We seek a passionate educator with a unique approach to teaching art, someone eager to integrate traditional methods with innovative techniques. Ideal candidate should possess a strong educational background in art, hands-on teaching experience and a commitment to continuous professional development. The candidate should be willing to instruct varied course offerings to students in both theory and art practice: Drawing 1 and 2, two (2) and three (3) dimensional design, Art Appreciation, The Black Aesthetic or Art History. Essential Job Duties Develop and manage syllabus materials. Selecting and compiling tests, assignments and/or online discussion exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to standardized learning objectives. Coordinate courseware and curriculum with academic department chair. Review any textbook and other courseware changes with the academic department chair and other full-time faculty teaching the course. Facilitate Class Instruction. Teach the assigned classes in accordance with learning objectives and session plan outlines as specified by Tuskegee University. Administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics. Participate in non-teaching assignments including instructional development, academic advising, registration assignments, college-wide and/or division activities and committees, professional development, internal and external service. Other assigned responsibilities determined in consultation with the dean and department head. Preferred Qualifications Candidate should have a terminal degree in fine art (MFA) Physical Demands Ability to comfortably lift up to 10lb Ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to walk short distances Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items Ability to view a computer terminal
