Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University invites applications for an adjunct position in Jazz Bass beginning August 2025. The primary duties of the successful candidate will be to teach courses in the core undergraduate Jazz Performance curriculum, including Ensemble Directing. Other duties include primary applied lessons for Jazz Majors, Recital Preparation, auditions, Jazz Juries, and performances with the Jazz Faculty. Other teaching areas may include classical bass. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in jazz performance Required Application Documents Cover Letter. The Cover Letter must address the applicant’s readiness, preparation, and/or experience teaching college-level General Education courses.
CV. The CV must include at least three references, in addition to the principal and guidance counselor, with current email addresses and phone numbers.
