Job Description:

Adjunct (part-time) instructors are hired on an as-needed, term-by-term (or per course) basis. By ing for this position, you will be joining the part-time instructional pool for consideration as a prospective adjunct instructor. 2D Drawing classes will be in person only classes, while the 2D Design class will be a Hybrid class Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide classroom instruction, and student guidance and support as assigned by the chair, while being familiar with and abiding by college policies.
Provide excellence in instruction for 2-dimensional art within the Fine and Performing Arts Department for undergraduate students, including online courses.
Assist in development and evaluation of curriculum as appropriate.
Serve as an ambassador for outreach for 2-dimensional art
Have a working knowledge of tools needed for the creation of 2-dimensional works.
Coordinate and promote student participation in appropriate competitions, conferences, and festivals.
Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) following college policies and procedures.
Support students by engaging them in class, answering questions in a timely manner, and referring them for additional support when necessary.

Requirements:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in art or a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 18 graduate hours in Art.
Proficiency with teaching technologies, including lecture-capture software (e.g., Camtasia or Kaltura) is needed only for the 2D Design class.
Demonstrated evidence of professional development growth through participation in continuing education and other related activities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

An earned doctorate in Art or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Art.
Post-secondary teaching experience.
Demonstrated success with online teaching •All degrees must be from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution.
